Channel Update: 9/11/17
Hey guys!
It's Destiny launch week! Pretty exciting time as far as the game is concerned. I've made three characters and IGN asked if I wanted to raid! I said yes, of course and the shoutout comes from the guys I've played with forever, shoutout to Legends of Speed. It's been really nice being able to play with all of my homies who have been playing other stuff when they got tired of the original Destiny.
Launch week is always interesting. Day 1, some streamers got early access because the company gave them access and gave them permission to play it early giving them nearly 12+ hour head start to gear up and level up. It's crazy that at the end of the week, people were still out-leveling them. A lot of luck is involved but it was really funny watching people get upset because they couldn't play it early or get the exposure of playing it before release. It's not a full-time thing for me, so maybe I just don't understand the issue but everyone seems to be doing fine right now.
The grind after basically a week has been pretty enjoyable. There was a lot more content and places to explore. There is a lot that I haven't seen yet because I haven't had to play it to max out my level. PVP is my least favorite experience because it doesn't match up with anything and has so little to it which is surprising since it's a core experience after all of the static Player vs Environment (PVE) content has been played through. The best part is where people have been coming back and playing that I've met over the last few years and we're all just enjoying all of the content together. A very refreshing experience.
My stream for this week: Good streams from a broadcasting standpoint, not very good stats-wise. A multitude of reasons for this come into play such as: changing directories again from Overwatch to PUBG to Destiny 2, not being super consistent. Every time slot I scheduled I was about an hour or two late. Another thing that comes into play is that exposure from people exploring the Directory goes down because the really big streamers are all live and grinding and there's a bunch of other new streamers that are playing the game because it's new and exciting. Just a lot more competition frankly. A more lowkey reason is some viewers actually don't like being on Twitch. People won't watch because they don't want the experience spoiled for them. You can't blame them but it's another reason for sure.
Good things that happened this week as far as stream: I played Rocket League with Luke, my roommate and had a great time! Might be playing that more for sure this week. Because the directory isn't as busy, the on-boarding of follows I mentioned in the last blog kicked in right before we started playing D2 and it caused a crazy high follow-train. Blowing up my stats for the week even though not a whole lot happened while actually playing Destiny 2. Mindset has been rough. I don't feel very motivated to stream, but I'm very motivated to hang out with everyone and have a good time. Gotta try and balance that out going into this next week.
With all that being said, onwards! STATS FOR THE WEEK
