Channel Update: 9/11/17

Hey guys! It's Destiny launch week! Pretty exciting time as far as the game is concerned. I've made three characters and IGN asked if I wanted to raid! I said yes, of course and the shoutout comes from the guys I've played with forever, shoutout to Legends of Speed. It's been really nice being able to play with all of my homies who have been playing other stuff when they got tired of the original Destiny. Launch week is always interesting. Day 1, some streamers got early access because the company gave them access and gave them permission to play it early giving them nearly 12+ hour head start to gear up and level up. It's crazy that at the end of the week, people were still out-leveling them. A lot of luck is involved but it was really funny watching people get upset because they couldn't play it early or get the exposure of playing it before release. It's not a full-time thing for me, so maybe I just don't understand the issue but everyone seems to...

Destiny 2 Launch Week

Hey guys! Last week was actually pretty good! This week was pretty lowkey after I played the Destiny 2 PC beta. I streamed it a lot and had a great time hanging out and playing with homies all weekend. I played with Pizza and Chill (my clan and homies) and with other streamers and we just straight pubstomped people all weekend. Once the beta went away, I found that I haven't really wanted to play games until Destiny 2 goes out on Tuesday night. I have my weekly schedule out and I've had a hit or miss reaction with it. Late afternoon start times are easily the hardest for me to get people to come out. Early morning has always been pretty good for the channel but I gotta just stream when I can. It's so funny, I've been streaming PUBG a lot lately and I get super into the gameplay to the point where I stop interacting with chat towards the end of a game, trying to focus. This is both a good and bad thing. I want to do well, but at the same time, Destiny is definintely an...

Week Two, One Week Out

A common theme here with 1's and 2's. I have no clue why, just worked out that way. Anyways, hi guys! It's ya boi Dubstache back here with another blog post. Just kidding, but really, welcome back. This last week was quite eventful. As far as real life stuff goes, I really didn't have a whole lot of time to do stuff for me. I worked 4 days, one of them was a double and I served at the State Fair for the coffee stand. That was a good time. I spent the three straight days off playing with friends and streaming over 10 hours total per day. It felt like shifts but if you do what you love, you never work a day in your life, right? That's the problem, I was working. I had a set schedule for the first time in a long time, I planned out my entire week but I forgot the key component: me time. After I posted my first blog last week, I took a hard look at the time spent streaming and the time spent working and started thinking about what else I was doing to improve myself as...

One, Two

Here we are. Welcome everyone! I'm Taylor, Dubstache, Dub, TayTay, whatever you want to call me. I'm a live-streamer on a platform called Twitch. A gaming platform where I can broadcast my game, interact with my chat, and commentate over the game I'm playing. It's a lot of fun and this blog has a few purposes and goals. First, I want to IMPROVE my writing. The goal with these weekly posts is to get people inside my head, know how I'm feeling, how I'm perceiving what's going on in the Twitch space as well as the gaming industry in general. I've always talked about writing but you don't get better unless you do it. Second, I want to track my PROGRESS.  This one is important. This is to keep myself motivated and in perspective as far as streaming goes. Streaming is not an easy endeavor. If you do it purely as a hobby, it's a fun outlet to meet people like-minded and such. I've been invested long enough now that it's no longer just a h...
